National Awards to Teachers Guidelines, Procedure, Application Form. The Scheme of National Award to Teachers was started in the year 1958-59 with the object of raising the prestige of teachers and giving public recognition to the meritorious services of outstanding teachers working in Primary, Middle and Higher Secondary Schools. Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi implements a Scheme "National Awards to Teachers" every year. The Government of India have issued certain guidelines for selection of Teachers for National Awards.
